The Diplomat Beach Resort

We returned to The Diplomat after a wonderful stay a year ago, and this time we brought our sons. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay, especially opening our door to view and listen to the waves of the gulf. The beach is steps from the door and the pool was warm and well maintained. The staff is always kind, and helpful in our accommodations. We appreciate the size of the rooms, the kitchen supplies, and the amount of privacy we experienced at The Diplomat. Hoping to return again and again.

We visit Longboat Key every year. & We LOVE IT. Each year we venture out and do a little more. Our favorite activities from this year was biking around the island, playing Tennis at Bayfront Park and eating at the Lazy Lobster! The Diplomat is a wonderful, we actually loved it so much we have stayed there twice. Our condo is very clean and nicely decorated. Right on the beach (30 second walk). It is our home away from home. I hope this is a tradition we continue every year! Highly recommend. Please be sure to read up on the rules and regulations (smoke free island), that is how they keep everything so nice and clean.

Just about as close as you could possibly get to the water. It is right beside a public beach access, however, there is only room for about 10 cars maximum, so it's still very private. Monday through Thursday there may have been 10 people on the beach. The weekend was a little busier, but still VERY quiet and private. We had a great experience. We stayed in unit 265. It was perfect size for just myself and my husband. Loved the spacious counter in the kitchen. Need an updated coffee maker. Maybe update sofa/couch. Other than that it was perfect!

We stayed a week, and it was pretty good right on the beach, not overly crowded either. The rooms are nice, we were very comfortable. we had all together 5 room there all good. I guess they have no smoking or vaping policy. We did not know this prior to booking a few people in our party do vape they don't smoke cigarettes. So, I guess a few of are party was told not to be doing that, and we had a lot of kids in our party and kept hanging on Lane Line, they got told stop more then once,sorry you know kids. The 1st night I got there Christmas night, the power in my room was out 2 hours after I had arrived. I had no idea why? Mother in law call maintenance, and they were there in 20 to 30 minutes. I felt awful because it was Christmas night! Like that power was back on. Kelly was very nice. This is a hidden gem if you're looking for a quiet place with basic amentities and comfortable, this place for you, I like everything, but I didn't catch any fish but that's not their fault.
